Today I’m sharing a beautiful Yin Yoga class focused on the Root Chakra. All the asanas in this sequence assist us in being grounded and cultivating a sense of safety within ourselves. This is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with your energy since we’ll be performing an easy and gentle scan of our Root Chakra.
The class is suitable for all experience levels and no props are required. So whenever you’re ready, roll out your mat and let’s enjoy this time together!
I have a free class available on YouTube for you to follow along – and I’m offering the sequence here in case you would prefer to do it by yourself! Choose whatever serves you best and feels most aligned for you in this moment.
Begin in Savasana to calm, ground, and center yourself. Once you are settled in this pose, hover one hand over your Root Chakra and simply notice – notice what sensations, images, awareness, or messages come to you.

Slowly move into Balasana, Child’s Pose – a wonderful asana to cultivate a sense of safety within you. As you remain here, feel the solid support of the ground beneath you.

Next, come into a variation of Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes) with one leg extended. Keep your awareness on your hips – keeping them grounded and your weight evenly distributed even as you twist. And make sure to repeat the pose on the other side!

Ease yourself onto your back and into Supta Baddha Konasana, Reclined Butterly…bringing it all to center, while at the same time allowing your hips to release, your shoulder blades sink heavy into the ground, any remaining tension melting from your body as you take deep belly breaths in the pose.

And, finally, make your way into Savasana to integrate the practice and when you feel ready to exit the pose, take a moment before you to do hover your hand over your Root Chakra one more time. Notice what you feel at the end of the practice, any differences in the sensations or in your connection with your energy.

I hope you feel incredibly grounded, centered, and rooted within yourself after this session.
