Today’s post has been a long time in the making, and I honestly have no idea why because it’s such a good one! Or maybe it came at just the right time for me to truly test this over and over again because…
We’re talking 18k gold plated, waterproof, and beyond stunning summer-inspired jewelry by Atolea!
I first discovered Atolea during one of those “brands that wanted to sponsor me” videos by Mia Maples. I always adore those because she really gives an honest, unbiased review. So instead of accepting an Atolea sponsorship, Mia tested the brand herself, and as she did, I remember thinking to myself heyyy, wait a minute, this is exactly what I need!
Since I tend to wear more gold than silver (but always hated the cheap-gold plated stuff that you couldn’t really get wet and would just turn into a mess after a few wears), this felt like a dream solution.
I also appreciate the 18k gold color so much because it kind of suits me best with its warmer tone.
Pretty much the same day as I saw Mia’s video (this was around two years ago at this point!), I put in my first order for a few necklaces. But as my order was on its way, I started seeing some bad reviews pop up for the brand – people saying this was cheap Aliexpress or Temu stuff, people complaining that the gold plating wasn’t really waterproof etc.
It made me pause for a moment because, hello, I know what I saw on Mia’s channel?!? She also kept her necklace submerged in water for an entire week and it still looked perfect. Besides, the designs were super cute and not cheap like some were pointing out.
So I decided to trust my first impulse over letting doubt get the better of me.
And oh my god was I right!
The moment my order arrived, I was beyond in love. The necklaces were perfection, they looked beautiful to wear, and they seemed to be good quality.
Naturally, my love story with Atolea didn’t end there.
I got more necklaces (some I even modified by putting my crystals on them), a bracelet, and an anklet that has literally not come off my leg in the past year and a half – which, to me, truly is a testimony of quality since I do sports, shower, swim…and the anklet is as perfect as it was the day I received it!
In my most recent haul, I had the pleasure of getting some earrings (since I felt called to start wearing them again after more than a decade), and I am once more absolutely and completely in love!
The earrings are pleasant to wear, they look incredible, and their designs are the perfect mix of summer and ocean vibes that I love with Atolea so much!
Which brings me to my final point – there are many brands out there that offer gold-plated jewelry done with the same PVD plating, which is what makes it so long-lasting. After discovering Atolea I looked at quite a lot of them, but none called to me as much as Atolea’s ocean-inspired designs and their 18k gold plating (although they do offer some 14k pieces, as well as silver ones in case that is more your thing!).
The biggest selling point for me truly is this beautiful air of luxury, entwined with summer and coastal vibes, which makes me come back to Atolea time and time again.
