One of the most beautiful things about thrifting is the opportunity to give a loving, second home to items that more than certainly deserve it…while at the same time supporting sustainability. A win-win situation, if you ask me! Which is why in this series of posts, I share my thrifted finds and also how I freshen them up – who knows, you just might be inspired to pick up a piece for yourself!
This is probably one of my favorite finds so far because I literally paid less than €3 for a breathtaking, like-new bag with the best boho vibes!
Introducing (from what I could find about the name and style) The Sak Hasley Happy & Free Zip Up Tote in Geometric Aztec Tribal Print.

The style number of this bag is 17023 and it’s supposedly from around 2013-2015 (with the retail price somewhere between $69 and $99).
It features a bright pink interior, a coated canvas exterior, and faux leather trim.
Now because of the faux leather trim I actually hesitated hard before snagging this one, but I sure am glad that I simply couldn’t get it out of my mind because she is an absolute beauty!
The print is beyond stunning and the bag has those amazing pockets I’ve come to learn The Sak is really good at (one zippered on the exterior, another zippered in the interior, and two pouch style spaces…absolute perfection!). Plus, hello, the interior is bright pink with the mantra “Happy & Free”…

To say this bag speaks my language would be an understatement!
The condition it came in was beyond excellent – just a little bit of dirt on the inside (which I suspect came from the filling, because the person who mailed it to me actually took such good care to stuff the bag to protect the shape), but otherwise she is in pristine condition!
Still blown away that I paid less than three euros (the exact number was €2.83!) for such a gorgeous piece! Insane!
All that being said, I am well aware that I’ll eventually have to address the faux leather. Thankfully, the bag is mainly canvas and there isn’t that much of trim to deal with in the grand scheme of things.

I recently fixed up a gorgeous Sakroots backpack for my mom that had vegan leather flying off the strap like petals off a cherry tree in the wind. It looked horrible, but the fix was quite satisfying, actually. I didn’t even have to do anything beyond stripping off the leather and then slowly painting the canvas underneath. And I have to say, especially for it being a brighter color, the finished result turned out great…and, most importantly, made the backpack wearable!
So this might be something I end up doing for this darling right here, but with her trim being all black, I’m positive the process will be even easier!
Needless to say, I plan to take good care of this beauty because I want her to be with me for many, many years to come!
